Places to Eat in New Tripoli, PA

New Tripoli is a charming LeHigh County town in eastern Pennsylvania. Its name is pronounced "tri-PO-lee" and locals take offense if it isn't pronounced correctly. So try to get it right for their sake. There are numerous shops and restaurants in the area. Here are a few of the restaurants that BBOnline thought you might enjoy.

Foulker's at the Blue Ridge

An eclectic menu and a vast wine cellar make Foulker's a favorite gathering place for locals. The cuisines of Italy, Germany, France and Spain are featured here, since the owners have traveled extensively and sampled both food and wine in these places. You can expect Thai, Mexican and other ethnic choices from time to time as well. Prices are moderate, but the mood is strictly family and it's a good place to make friends. An excellent choice for a place to eat after checking into your New Tripoli inn.

Schleicher's Family Restaurant

Another great find without a Web presence, this restaurant has great food and serves it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Something like a diner, there is a huge variety of choices from the hot turkey sandwich to pasta and Mexican fare. It's always crowded with locals who enjoy the extra large portions that appear moments after they're ordered. This is a place to definitely take the kids and anyone else who's hungry. You won't be hurried through your meal either, which is something that the owners pride themselves on.

Romano's Restaurant
2060 W Penn Pike
New Ringgold, PA 17960

At this upscale restaurant only a short drive from your New Tripoli bed and breakfast, you will find excellent northern Italian fare. Restaurant owner Tony Romano is an artist in many ways, including the food that he cooks and serves so tastefully and the paintings that he creates that decorate the restaurant walls. The ambiance is perfect here and the waitstaff thoroughly trained. Don't be surprised by the fresh flowers at your talbe. This is indeed a place to go for a very special event. Prices are high, but the quality of food and service is beyond reproach. You'll enjoy the house speciality Ossobucca and the handmade pasta that goes with it. Seafood is another possibility. The restaurant also has a wide selection of wines and advice on which goes best with each entree. So buon appetito!
