One of the things to do in Chapel Hill is go on a walking tour of the UNC campus.  A stroll takes you to see its historic buildings and verdant oak tree lined parks. During school time, the campus is a fun-filled place bursting with students. Trace the paths taken by every football team from the Old Well down the path to the football stadium. The Botanical Garden is part of the University of North Carolina and is a conservation garden. The aim of the University is to conserve its native plants and provide education about them, which it has been doing so for the last 30 years. The place includes display gardens, Piedmont Nature Trails, Coker Arboretum, Forest Theater and more. The gardens are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.

The Preserve is an 18-hole regulation golf course located along the shores of Jordan Lake.  It has been named one of the top 40 new golf courses by "Golfweek" magazine and provides a challenging experience. The Cane Creek Reservoir is a great way to spend your time outdoors, with many activities to choose from. You can go fishing in the reservoir or go on a picnic with the whole family. Boats are available for rent. The 540-acre reservoir has walking trails and provides a lot for nature enthusiasts. The place is open to the public from March to November.
