Wild West City is only a couple of miles from your Stanhope inn. This fun western-themed attraction offers a live theatre performance of the wild west, "Main Street 1880," along with a stagecoach and train ride, a barnyard zoo, pony rides, a miniature golf, as well as "Pan for Gold," where guests can move the pans around the dirt to find gold nuggets. Wild West City is a fun choice of things to do around Lake Musconetcong.

The Land of Make Believe is a fabulous family amusement and water park, with many thrilling rides. This park won an award for the "Park Specifically Designed for Parent Participation with Children." It's located about 14 miles from your Stanhope bed and breakfast.

Attractions at the park include body slides, numerous fun thrill rides, a theatre area where children can participate, a talking scarecrow, haunted Halloween house, a Christmas village, a farm, and the Grand Carousel and spinning rides. A picnic area is provided, and nine food areas are also offered. Parking is free. Price is about $22 for adults, $24 for children 2 to 18 years of age, $20 for seniors 62 years of age and up, with children under 2 free (all prices are as of January, 2011). Both the water park and amusement park rides are included with the price of admission.

The Rolling Greens Golf Club is about eight miles from Stanhope, and not far from Lake Musconetcong. This 18-hole public course is open year round, offering great golfing at reasonable rates. Rolling Greens also boasts of its driving range and miniature golf, Pro Shops, golfing lessons and more.

Spring Valley Equestrian Center is located approximately 10 miles from Stanhope and is a great way to spend some time outdoors. With an advance phone call, visitors can reserve a slot to go horseback riding on the trails for about $30 per person (2011 prices). Guests must be at least eight years of age to ride along the trails. Half-hour rides and a tour of the farm are offered for children under eight, usually for about $25. Lessons are also available.
