Founded by the Johnson family, this restaurant has a vast array of dishes to choose from, all at great prices. As the name implies, seafood and steak are the specialties of the house, specifically the tender, melt-in-your-mouth steak tips and fresh lobster. The fried scallops, clam strips and oysters are also highly recommended, and the portions are huge. If you go to Johnson's, be sure to save room for dessert, as their homemade ice cream may be the best in the state. Ask for an ice cream cone and you will be shocked by how much you get, and with more than 30 flavors to choose from, you're sure to find whatever you're craving.

If you're a vegetarian or vegan, pop on over from your Northwood inn to Susty's, the best organic Northwood restaurant. You will be impressed by how delicious homemade meatless dishes can be. Try the tofu fries, vegetable lasagna or black bean enchiladas. The desserts are rich and tasty as well, especially the chocolate cake and the strawberry shortcake. In addition to Susty's healthy all-natural food, the restaurant serves refreshing natural juices and smoothies. Prices are reasonable considering that all ingredients are fresh and organic. If you want to drink alcohol with your meal, feel free to bring in your own wine or beer and the staff will provide you with glasses and corkscrews. The only downside is that Susty's is closed from Monday to Wednesday.

From juicy baby back ribs to pork chops or filet mignon, this restaurant has a huge selection of dishes to choose from. On the menu, you will find a seafood section, a chicken section, a pasta section and a lite section in addition to salads, sandwiches, burgers and the chef's specialties. Prices vary, but generally range from $13 to $20. The soups are especially tempting, with steaming delights such as tomato basil, French onion, New England clam chowder and hot sausage.

This Northwood restaurant is a comforting, family owned place with inexpensive, quality meals and a lively atmosphere. It has been in business since 1963 and is still owned by the Chadbourn family; Bob Chadbourn, Jr. is the executive chef and also entertains customers by playing the piano. It is highly recommended to go to Chadbourn's for their excellent Sunday breakfast featuring all of your favorites, including eggs any style, hashbrowns, pancakes and maple syrup, and more. If you go for lunch or dinner, don't miss their famous onion rings. Chandourn's is an excellent restaurant to go to as a family to spend time together.
