There are almost 67 miles of trails available at the Ocala National Forest. These trails are excellent for hiking. The terrain offers boardwalks over swamp land, hills and much more. If you want to hike easier trails try Salt Springs, Lake Eaton Sinkhole and Lake Eaton Loop trails. These trails provide shorter distances.

Bike riders should travel the Paisley Woods Bicycle Trail. It's not an easy trail to take on but many find it a nice ride. This trail provides 22 miles of oaks, pines and prairie terrain. The rough trail paths require the use of mountain bikes. Bring plenty of fluids; water isn't available.

Ocala National Forest also features areas for boating, kayaking and canoeing. Alexander Spring Creek and Juniper Creek are terrific places to explore by kayak or canoe. Both of these creeks are primitive, so watch out for logs or hanging branches.

Fishing is great in the forest. You'll find lakes, ponds and streams brimming with fish. Angling activities require a fishing license. Call for information on where to acquire yours or purchase one at a Florida county tax office.
