What to See and Do on Your Getaway to a Grover Inn

The two-story Grover Depot Museum is a little piece of history in the middle of town, dating from the late 1880s. This structure was an actual depot that was part of the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad, a main transportation route through these parts. Learn all about Grover's pioneer past through photographs and memorabilia highlighting the community's prosperous start. Grover used to boast an opera house, post office, newspaper office, hotels and a school. All of that changed once the railroad left and families moved away. Pawnee National Grasslands

Although the town is small, it's part of the beautiful Pawnee National Grasslands, along the Pawnee Pioneer Trails Scenic and Historic Byway. This 136-mile driving route through eastern Colorado also features the famed Pawnee Buttes, which jut more than 500 feet above the plains. This impressive landscape makes for great pictures and sightseeing. Along the trail, you'll also see many species of birds, of which there are about 250, so bring your binoculars.
