The Mountainstate Association of Bed & Breakfasts (MABB) was formed in 1991 by a handful of bed and breakfast owners in West Virginia seeking support, encouragement, and recognition for their small but lively businesses. Within five years the organization had grown to over 50 members throughout the state. Gaining in popularity as alternative lodging, the group has continued to grow to over 90 member bed & breakfasts. Run by a solely volunteeer Board of Directors, members participate in group projects and advertising to promote travel in West Virginia, hold an annual conference and publish a quarterly newsletter.

Perhaps the most important service which the Mountainstate Association of Bed & Breakfasts provides to you, the discerning traveler, are the standards of cleanliness, comfort, and safety which are required of all members and are enforced through routine inspections.
