Introduction
Nestled in this beautiful spot of Thomas, West Virginia we now call home, we're glad you stopped by to get to know us. Whether you come for a weekend or stay for a week, it will all add up to an unforgettable visit.
In the morning, the enticing aroma of breakfast cooking wafts throughout the house. Enjoy a morning beverage in the foyer which features glorious morning sun and views of Blackwater Canyon. You can also find trail maps and information on local attractions and activities. The peaceful massage room can be used for stretching, meditation and yoga. A delicious, full breakfast is served in the great room with its cathedral ceiling and views of Barbershop Falls.
At the end of your day, you can sit and relax in the music room, where a grand piano awaits those who wish to play. Or you can browse through our large selection of books in the library. The hot tub is located outdoors near the fire pit. In the guest rooms you can be lulled to sleep by the sounds of the river and waterfall. The private, spacious, contemporary bathroom and comfortable bed make it the perfect place to end your day.
The house was originally built in 1898 for the superintendent of the local coal mines. It was completely renovated and expanded in 2005. However, the original staircase, pocket doors, coal burning stove and claw foot tub remain.
Choose between our Blue Guest Room and Green Guest Room with views of the canyon, the mountains and the waterfall. Both feature spacious contemporary private baths with soaking tubs and large dual headed showers and individually controlled radiant heated floors. Our rates start at $95 to $110 per night.
