Introduction

Simple, elegant and comfortable, the historic Bright Morning Inn Bed and Breakfast is your gateway to some of the most unspoiled scenic areas in West Virginia: Blackwater Falls, Canaan Valley, Dolly Sods, Otter Creek, Spruce Knob, and Seneca Rocks. With private baths in every room, and full country breakfasts daily. At night, restaurants and shops within walking distance offer food and entertainment. In the morning, rent a bike from Blackwater Bike Shop next door, or let us provide you with guidebooks, maps and personalized trip planning.

The Bright Morning Inn's restaurant serves breakfast on weekends and dinner every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Breakfast includes a full array of regional country food and healthy food, too. At night on weekends we feature a menu of regional "comfort" foods prepared by Chef Curtis Heishman.

Built in 1896 as a boarding house and saloon for lumberjacks, the Inn has been completely renovated to accommodate 25 guests in 7 bedrooms and one family suite, all with private baths. Simple, comfortable and uncluttered, our rooms are furnished with country antiques, rustic pine floors, colorful rugs and hand-made quilts. The inn is a smoke-free facility with wireless access available throughout.
In the evenings, a relaxing common area offers a large screen TV, piano, board games and complimentary drinks and snacks. When you wake, a hearty breakfast is included in the cost of your stay. Adjacent to the inn, Doc's Guest House, a beautifully renovated Victorian home circa 1900 sleeps seven in 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths and 2 half baths. It offers a perfect and affordable getaway for families, small groups and private retreats.
