Introduction
Turn back a page in time. Experience Victorian elegance and contemporary comfort, with a sense of history, when you spend the night in one of the splendid guest rooms of this gracious, turn of the century, Queen Anne style home.
Luxury and comfort are yours to enjoy when you surround yourself in the ambience of the Scofield House Bed and Breakfast. This wonderful old Victorian home has been restored to include six, tastefully, decorated guest rooms, each displaying its own unique personality. Elegantly prepared and generously served breakfasts add to the enjoyment of a stay at the Scofield House Bed and Breakfast.
A profusion of lace, tapestries, floral wall papers and antique furnishings give each room a distinctly different character. Oversized whirlpool tubs blend harmoniously with imported period wall coverings, marble, crystal and stained glass windows. Twentieth century concessions - televisions, VCR's and stereos are cleverly concealed in antique armoires. And of course there is central air conditioning, in a smoke free environment. A stay at the Scofield House is a true bed and breakfast experience, not just lovely accommodations. Since it is also the home of the innkeepers, you can expect attentive, personal service. Dining recommendations, the best ski, bike or hiking trails, and a myriad of other topics are all things the hosts are eager to share with their guests.
The highlight of any stay at the Scofield House is breakfast. A full, homemade breakfast is served daily in our oak paneled dining room. Our menu changes daily and may include blueberry coffee cake or white chocolate cherry scones, fresh fruit, waffles with Door County cherry topping, or a cinnamon french toast soufflé. Breakfast is also the time when the fine art of conversation, a Victorian avocation, is practiced while lingering over that last cup of coffee and sharing plans for a day on the county.
Afternoon sweet treats on the buffet, with complimentary gourmet tea, cocoa, coffee or cider, oven-fresh cookies and baked goods have become a Scofield House ritual.
