Introduction
Entering the gates to Hillcrest, you will drive between the original stone pillars. Curving past the Carriage House, you approach the beautiful, old mansion where the panoramic seven-mile view of waterways and surroundings unfold before you.
The Hillcrest Inn was cited as a dream weekend escape in October 1998 issue of Milwaukee Magazine. In the June 2000 Wisconsin Trails magazine, the Inn was referred to as "an island of serenity".
The Main House
has been meticulously restored to its original splendor, offering the guest warmth, serenity and beauty. Turn-of-the-century furnishings in rooms with private baths take the guest back in time to a more peaceful and elegant era. Let your senses embrace the lace window curtains dancing in a gentle breeze, the down comforter laying on the bed, the classical music drifting up the staircase, the aroma of cinnamon wafting from the oven. Prepare yourself for the four-course breakfast served on fine china and stemware, which always includes a taste of chocolate.
The Carriage House
has been redesigned to offer luxurious rooms with private baths, private entrances, whirlpools and/or fireplaces. The former caretakers quarters now houses a charming, second-story suite. Guests who are seeking a romantic, secluded escape find it in these upscale accommodations.
Rate range: $110.00 - $200.00 effective January 1, 2006.

As you experience the breathtaking view this inn offers, you can understand why the home's original owners, the Caldwells, chose this elevated site to build their Edwardian mansion in 1908. The past has been preserved in the grounds and buildings, which has been restored to their former stately elegance. The English heritage of the property can be felt in the architecture and the gardens, which abound on the hillside. Relaxing on the porches, one can almost imagine horse drawn carriages rolling up the hill to be garaged in the lovely Carriage House. A quiet stroll to the ornate gazebo nestled in the woods of this four acre estate is an experience to be treasured.
As the owners of this beautiful estate, Gayle & Mike Hohner welcome you to relax and enjoy the period antiques, magnificent grounds, and attention to detail, which will make your stay memorable.
