La Haut or Le Haut literally means "the height" in Patois, a French dialect that is commonly spoken by St. Lucians. La Haut sits on a hill overlooking Soufriere, one of the oldest towns in St Lucia.
Part of a 52-acre former coconut and cocoa estate, the main Guest House possesses a unique history. Nearly 100 years old, the main guesthouse was originally a cocoa house used for fermenting and drying cocoa beans hand-picked on the estate. In 1995, the building was converted and refurbished into a 6-room guesthouse. The nearby cottage was a former copra house where coconuts were once processed.
Although the rich aroma of cocoa beans no longer wafts through the air, at La Haut you can enjoy the perfume-scented, tropical fauna or the salty breeze that blows off the Caribbean Sea.
Delice Restaurant and Bar overlooks a breathtaking vista described by locals and visitors alike as "perfect". Relax on one of three outdoor balconies while savoring the very best in authentic Creole and International cuisine. We use the finest locally grown fruits and vegetables, with fresh herbs grown on our resort.
Our specialty dishes are:- local fish: flying fish, dorado, snapper, kingfish & our famous fishcakes.

16 splendid rooms promising breath-taking views, in an urban-modern atmosphere. Guest rooms at La Haut are comfortable and spacious to ensure a relaxing Caribbean retreat.
There are 16 rooms around the property. All rooms have:- a small kitchenette with tea/coffee making facilities, toaster and fridge,
- a balcony with rocking chair for relaxing,
- a luxury king-size bed, a ceiling fan and mosquito net over the bed,
- a safe,
- additional single beds can be provided if required.
For groups of 4 or more people, we have larger units to choose from, such as self-contained cottages or villas.

Beaches
Relax on the volcanic sand at Anse Chastanet, which offers excellent scuba diving and snorkelling facilities. Take a water-taxi to the Jalousie beach and see the island from the sea. The best snorkelling on the island is under the cliffs by Hummingbird beach. A complimentary shuttle is available to guests to/from Anse Chastanet beach daily at scheduled times

Weddings Ceremonies
Wedding Ceremonies at La Haut are held betwen either 10:00am to 11:30am or 3:00pm to 5:00pm.
La Haut offers guests the freedom of choice as to the location of the Wedding.- By the La Haut Restaurant on the lower outside balcony.
- By the swimming pool
- The foot of the bridge by the garden pond.
- On the Lawns
- One of the three covered outside balconies
A special location in the valley of the resort, near the infinity pool and pavillion is also available for the wedding ceremony, subject to a surcharge.
All these locations have spectacular views of the Pitons and Soufriere Valley
Weddings Receptions
La Haut Restaurant is comprised of four outdoor balconies, three covered and one that is open air.
The lower covered balcony is where the wedding receptions are held, seating a maximum of 35 people for a formal dinner. Tables can seat four, eight, 10 or 12 people.

Surcharge for exclusive use of the restaurant lower balcony

This surcharge is waived for the Bride & Groom who are resident at La Haut for a minimum of five (5) nights.
All prices are subject to 8% Government Tax and 10% Service Charge.
Weddings Need to Know
It is necessary to spend at least two (2) full working days in St. Lucia prior to the wedding date. The actual wedding could be on the third or fourth day of stay. A fast track appliation can be processed quicker with a surcharge fee.
Requirements:- Passport and Birth Certificates of the Bride and Groom.
- Decree Absolute (if one of the parties is divorced).
- In the case of a widow/widower, a Death Certificate is required.
- If name has been changed, a Deed Poll is required.
- If one of the parties is under the age of 18, evidence of a parental consent is required in the form of a sworn affidavit.
- If any of the required documents are not in English, an authenticated translation must be available.
The above documents in addition to a Wedding Form, which is obtained from La Haut should be faxed at least one month prior to the wedding.
All documents must be brought in their original form.
The legal documents must be signed by the Bride and Groom in St. Lucia in presence of a Justice of the Peace or a Lawyer, which La Haut can arrange.
