| The Walden House Bed and Breakfast in Newport Washington is a family friendly establishment. A great place for a relaxing family vacation or special getaway for just the two of you. You will experience a down-to-earth atmosphere in a country setting with many amenities to enjoy and plenty of local and close by activities from which to choose. This newly renovated Bed and Breakfast has 8 guest rooms with private baths and each has its own great theme. We offer breakfast in the dining area or you can choose a breakfast in a basket delivered to your room. Each evening a different dessert is served. Yes, we have high speed wireless internet through out the house. |

Newport is nestled in the picturesque North East Mountains of Washington State. This charming community was established in the 1890's close to the Pend Oreille River. It sits on the Washington-Idaho border, centrally located for year round fun and adventure. We invite you to come and experience Pend Oreille County and the Idaho Panhandle and enjoy some great family hospitality at The Walden House Bed and Breakfast. The Walden House Bed and Breakfast is our family home of over 6000 sq.ft., where we have enjoyed raising our 15 children. It sits on the edge of town in a country setting on an acre with a huge fenced back yard that has lots of grass to play on, patios, a play yard for the kids, a basketball court, a fire pit for roasting hotdogs and marshmallows, a BBQ area and a 8 person spa. Overlooking the back yard is a large enclosed deck with lots of windows and an electric fireplace. |

One block away are hiking and biking trails and the Pend Oreille River is only 3/4 mile away. If you are interested you can check out a basketball, volleyball, badminton, croquet and horse shoes or a couple of bicycles. Our off street parking lot has plenty of room to accommodate RV's, boats, jet skis, snowmobiles, or horse trailers. The Walden House is an ideal location for special events such as family reunions, weddings, honeymoons, anniversaries, retreats or off site business meetings. Whole house rentals are available. We can also arrange catering if needed. |
