Hearty Breakfasts & Serious CoffeeBreakfast at Chinaberry Hill is a celebration of "food for the soul". Julia Child calls it "foody food" -- the kind of breakfasts that we remember from our childhood Sundays, waking up to the aroma of fresh-brewed coffee, sizzling bacon and homemade biscuits baking in the oven. Special dietary requirements? No problem - just let the innkeepers know (the chef can handle anything from lactose-intolerant to vegetarian to macrobiotic - or maybe you really DO have to watch those fat grams, even on holiday).
The menu changes daily and is a multi-course event:
Breakfast begins with fresh orange juice and Starbucks roasted coffee
(or tea), a large fruit dish (fresh strawberries, peaches and blueberries
in a tart lemon sauce or perhaps pears, bananas and grapes in an
apple/cinnamon sauce, topped with vanilla bean yoghurt and chopped
walnuts). Main course offerings are varied - blueberry pancakes, scrambled eggs w/cheese, green onions and diced red peppers, and pepper crust bacon is regular favorite. Smoked salmon quiche, garlic potatoes and black bean salsa is another.
