Introduction
In 1889 a house composed entirely of logs was constructed. It was an awesome project, as the logs used in this structure were 9 inches thick, 18 inches in height and measured up to 30 feet long. A team of oxen was used to sled the logs to the crossroads of Marblemount. The structure was named the "Log House Inn" and was a meeting place for all the gold miners and pack mule train drivers heading up the Skagit River.
Today the building is being remodeled back into an inn and will have ten guest rooms downstairs and five guest rooms upstairs. It is now called the Buffalo Run Inn, but you must register at the Buffalo Run Restaurant, across the street. Each registered guest will receive a 10% discount on their restaurant bill, by presenting the room key!
