The Willard Street Inn is a charming Victorian mansion built in 1881 of brick and white marble as a private family home for Charles W. Woodhouse. The three story Inn offers grace and grandeur blended with the warmest hospitality. Tall double front doors with antique brass handles open to welcome you into the beautiful cherry paneled foyer and its striking staircase. The décor is both elegant and comfortable. Each of its 14 guest rooms, all with private baths, is individually decorated with authentic and reproduction antiques. Each room has its own personality that welcomes you with a blend of historic charm and modern comforts. Every morning a delicious gourmet breakfast is prepared by our chef and served in the sunny marble floored solarium with its delightful views of our beautiful English gardens and Lake Champlain. |

In the warmer months, a stroll down the stunning marble staircase off the solarium leads guests to our 1.5 acres of lawn and English gardens filled with flowers and herbs. Whether in bloom with spring flowers or ablaze with autumn color, the gardens are a place to behold the wonders of nature. A short walk takes you to the University of Vermont, Champlain College, Lake Champlain's waterfront and Church Street's fine restaurants and shopping.

We serve a full breakfast each morning to our guests from 7:30 am until 10 am in our marble-floored solarium. We start you off with a selection of juices, Green Mountain Coffee or hot tea and a basket of our homemade breads and muffins. This is followed by your choice of one of our three daily breakfast options prepared by the Inn's chef: an egg dish, be it either traditional or with a bit of the unexpected, such as an omelet, Eggs Benedict, or a savory scramble; a sweeter dish like pancakes, waffles, French toast or crepes with pure Vermont maple syrup; or the Willard Street Inn's homemade granola filled with nuts and dried fruit served with either milk, a selection of yogurts, or soy milk. Each entrée is also accompanied by a nice side of fresh fruit. We are happy to try to accommodate your special dietary needs or preferences (e.g. vegetarian, vegan, food allergies etc.) Please just let us know prior to your arrival so we can make necessary arrangements. Inn guests may invite outside guests to join them for breakfast at a cost of $13.95 per person (tax included.) However, we do ask that you please limit the number of your outside guests to 2 guests per reserved room so that we may maintain our intimate dining setting. |

Each day we deliver a plate of our signature chocolate chip cookies to your room with Lake Champlain chocolates and a dried fruit snack. Green Mountain Coffees and a delightful array of teas are available throughout the day and evening, along with another small nibble, whether it be another delectable sweet or a piping hot cup of soup in the winter. In the warmer months we offer iced tea or lemonade as the perfect beverage to take outside where you can sit in our brightly colored Adirondack chairs, stroll in our English gardens, or play a game of bocce ball or croquet. We do not have a liquor license, but you are welcome to bring along any beverages of your choice. We are happy to provide glassware, corkscrews, ice, and wine buckets for you. There is also a guest refrigerator in the kitchen for keeping your beverages cool during your stay. |
