The Main Lodge

Of the three buildings, the oldest is what we refer to as the Main Lodge. The common areas of the lodge contain the front desk and foyer, a living room and library with fireplaces, a dining room with three separate areas and a wine bar. There are seven large bedrooms in the lodge, each offering private bathrooms with tubs and showers, cable TV, telephones, hair dryers, down comforters and other amenities found in fine inns.

A king-size bed, covered with a blue and white small floral patterned comforter, dominates this room. The skirt on the bed contrasts with the floral comforter in a blue and white stripe. The bed has an oak headboard.

The room has 4 single windows with fabric shades that match the pink and blue floral/stripe wall covering. The blue wainscoting accents the blue print fabrics beautifully. The floors are covered with a beige carpet and there is a large blue and white throw rug by the bed. An air conditioner in one window allows the guests to adjust the temperature of the room to their liking.

In one corner of the room, there are two very comfortable blue swivel rockers separated by a table and a good reading lamp. Across from the sitting area is a chest-of-drawers with a TV/VCR on top. This arrangement makes this room perfect for relaxing with a good book or your favorite TV program. There is a small oriental cabinet in the room that is just right for those small things that get misplaced easily. Between the bedroom and the private bath, there is a small walk-in closet for hanging clothes and storing suitcases.

The bathroom has a tub/shower and the walls are covered with a very small blue and white print wall covering with some of the same blue wainscoting. The bathroom has a blue and white throw rug on the vinyl floor to match the larger one in the bedroom.

Room 9-Main Lodge
Room 9-Main Lodge
This charming room contains a queen-size canopy bed dressed in an elegant cream jacquard comforter with matching shams. The skirt is blue. The walls are covered with a pale yellow wall covering with pink, yellow and blue flowers. There are two large windows covered with drapes that match the wall covering. The windows allow plenty of light to enter the room. The window in the front of the house overlooks the large pasture surrounded by mountains. The side window overlooks the yard. There is a large, elaborate painted armoire on one wall with plenty of room for clothing and other items. On the wall opposite from the bed, is a painted chest with a rounded front and a TV/VCR on top. Under the side window are two upholstered chairs with a floral covered chest between them. The upholstery on the chairs is a pale pink and cream striped fabric. There are two bedside tables with lamps. Next to the chairs is a decorative writing desk. The carpet is pale beige.

The canopy on the bed has a floral ruffle that matches the drapes with a blue under ruffle that matches the skirt on the bed. The canopy and the delicate painting on the furniture add much to the charm of this room. It has a very feminine appeal.

The private bathroom has a deep soaker tub with shower. The walls are covered with a pale yellow wall covering with small pink and blue flowers. The floor is white vinyl. There is a small window with mini-blinds.

Hill House Suites

Hill House Suites

The Hill House Suites consist of eight large rooms with private baths. The building is far enough away from the main building to provide seclusion, but close enough to enjoy the common rooms of the Main Lodge and of course, a great breakfast in the mornings. On the first floor there is a common area containing space for skis, an ice machine and a cold drink machine. A covered deck surrounds the entrance to the rooms on both levels. On the second level there is a deck containing a large Jacuzzi for the use of the guests. The four suites on the second floor have cathedral ceilings and arched windows. All suites on both floors contain a large closet, tubs with showers, double lavatories, hair dryers, down comforters, corner brick wood-burning fireplaces, air conditioning units, cable TV, and access to individual outdoor balconies. Each room also offers a sitting area with various arrangements, some including pull-out sofas for extra sleeping room. Roll-away beds, cribs, and toddler beds are available for most of the rooms.

This beautiful, luxurious room is on the 1st floor. The centerpiece of this room is the beautiful, ornate cream colored queen-size poster bed with an ornate plantation headboard. The contrast between the cream bed and the burgundy and gold floral comforter is striking. Adding to the drama is the wall covering that matches the comforter. Pillow shams that match the comforter and a bed skirt with the coordinating stripe complete the look. A down comforter covered with a cream duvet is at the foot of the bed. The woodwork in the room is painted to match the burgundy background of the wall covering. Large bedside tables with drawers match the bed and hold beautiful gold lamps with cream shades bordered by a wide cream colored fringe. The carpet is a cream tweed Berber with a hint of burgundy. A closet is provided for hanging clothing. Room 21-Hill House Suites

A large cherry armoire is located across from the bed and holds a TV and drawers for clothing. There are two double windows with lace valances and mini-blinds. A glass door covered with cream curtains opens to the outside patio where a view of the tennis court and the lawn can be enjoyed. There is a wall air conditioner for comfort in warm weather.

The private bathroom has double sinks and a tub with extra hand grips for those who need them. The walls are covered with a small print wall covering, cream with pink and green floral geometric designs. Good lighting is provided over the sinks and there is an additional light over the tub. A heat lamp and ventilator in the ceiling warm the room. This room can connect to an adjoining room through a common door.

A large pine armoire provides room for clothing and other items. Two pine bedside tables with a drawer provide space for bedtime needs. A table containing a TV is placed across from a sitting area near the corner fireplace. The multi-colored tapestry floral loveseat sits in front of the fireplace making a cozy place to read or relax and watch TV. A coffee table in front of the loveseat is a good place for reading material. The large beige and rose area rug accents the sitting arrangement. Two round tables with floor length rose fabric tablecloths are along the wall. A wall air conditioner in included for comfort.

The room has two double windows, one of which has a beautiful arched top. The windows are covered by valances that match the comforter. Mini-blinds provide privacy.
