Introduction
Looking for great hiking, biking, motorcycling, golf, fishing, horseback riding, gliding or skiing in Vermont? Perhaps a romantic getaway, attending a wedding at Sugarbush or the Inn at the Round Barn, or maybe you'd just like to enjoy the simpler pleasures of the spectacular scenery that the Green Mountains of Vermont have to offer?
Our AAA 3 Diamond and Mobil 2 star rated, four-season Sugarbush bed & breakfast accommodation features nine great rooms, twin, full, Queen and King sized feather beds, each with private en-suite bathroom, a delicious three-course breakfast and a cozy lounge with a welcoming log fire in the winter.
There's always plenty to do and enjoy during your stay at The Sugartree Inn. Located in Warren, Vermont, summertime provides the opportunity for a huge range of outdoor activities and in winter we're by far the closest Sugarbush Bed & Breakfast to Lincoln Peak and a short drive to the challenging trails of Mad River Glen.
It's the perfect place for a getaway - no TVs, but individual DVD players with an ever-growing library of movies and we were one of the first Bed and Breakfasts in Vermont's Mad River Valley to offer wireless internet access. Give us a call - you'll be glad you made this Vermont B and B you're home in Vermont.
AGA at the Sugartree Inn
2440 Sugarbush Access Road
Warren, Vermont
Proud owners of The Sugartree Inn since February 2004, we are originally from London, England (a place once described by a guest as 'the Mother Ship'). It took us two years to find The Right Place and felt at home as soon as we entered Vermont.
Maxine, former Sports Marketing executive, dog lover, AGA fanatic (some say obsessive - don't get her started...), reformed shopaholic. Traveled (and shopped) all over the world, met all kinds of people, couldn't wait to get home.
Graham, former musician, graphic designer, classic car lover, MAC fanatic (some say obsessive - don't get him started...). Traveled (toured) all over the place, met all kinds of people, couldn't wait to get to the next place.
Oh, and Beckham the Labradoodle, named after the recently retired England soccer captain David Beckham (because he's so good looking....according to Maxine) he was a nightmare for the first year, now he's a good boy!
So what's the big deal about Vermont anyway?
Well, we're the 43rd smallest state - just 151 miles long and 90 miles at its widest and 9,249 miles in total area - 77% of which is forest - with a population of around 592,000. Vermont - from the French Vert (green) Mont (mountain) - was recently voted one of the six top places to visit in the world (and the top place in the USA) by a panel of judges for National Geographic Traveler magazine. With miles and miles of clear water, fresh air and mountains generously smothered with abundant forestry, rivers, lakes, shopping and nightlife, you can be as busy (or as lazy) as you want to be!
About the Area
There is lots of activity to enjoy here. Outdoor recreation in the summer includes: canoeing (the valley is the orignal home of Mad River Canoe), golf, tennis, soaring, hiking, walking, mountain biking, road biking, fly fishing and horseback riding. Downhill skiing and cross country skiing are very popular in winter as well as snowmobiling and snowshoeing. After all that strenuous exercise, there are places to watch (and taste!) how Vermont specialty foods are made including Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, Cabot Cheese, Cold Hollow Cider, and maple sugar houses. The valley also hosts an array of unique and cultural events. For crafts, there are shops for quilts, pottery, wooden salad bowls, wind chimes. Maxine and Graham know where the most interesting antique shops are located.
