Introduction
Listed on the National Register, The 1830 Shire Town Inn is a farmhouse built in the 1830's featuring the warmth of beamed ceilings and wide board wood floors. The clapboard addition was added at the turn of the century making it over 100 years old. Nestled in the picturesque Village of Woodstock, we have enjoyed 16 years of welcoming guests to our bed and breakfast.

living room The 1830 Shire Town Inn offers three distinctive guest rooms with comfortable queen size beds, private baths with shower massage, and individually controlled heat in the winter and air conditioning in the summer.

The living room with wide pine floorboards and dining room with maple floorboards feature the warmth of exposed hand-hewn beams. Guests are welcomed into the common areas upon arrival. Enjoy playing a variety of board games, cards, or work on a puzzle at the dining room table. The living room has a fireplace, cable TV and a VCR for your pleasure. In spring and summer, the front porch is another spot to sit and read or just relax.

In the morning, a full hearty breakfast is served in the dining room between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. Earlier seatings can be available to meet your needs. Breakfast includes eggs cooked to order or the Shire Town special of the day, such as French Toast or Pancakes served with local Vermont made syrup. Hot and cold beverages, homemade breads or muffins, and bacon, ham or sausage complete your individual order. Special dietary needs are gladly arranged with advance notice.
