Introduction

Ranney-Crawford House - Putney, Vermont The Ranney-Crawford House is a brick Federal manor house built by Elijah Ranney in circa 1810. It has been lovingly restored to retain much of its early 19th century charm and elegance. This elegant home with Palladian windows, Rumford fireplaces, fine woodwork and wainscoting is situated amidst flowering gardens, lawns, and some of the original fields first farmed by the Ranneys.

You have a choice of bright, airy bedrooms with either queen or twin beds, and some of the rooms have fireplaces. The rates are $$160 to $195 per night, for double occupancy. Check in is 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.; check out by 11 a.m. A hearty country breakfast is served in the formal dining room, or outdoors on the patio. Guests rave about the breakfast specialties, including several varieties of homemade biscotti to enjoy with coffee, as well as, omelettes and frittatas filled with fresh vegetables from the garden. Naturally, pancakes or French toast are staples to enjoy with pure Vermont Maple Syrup. Elijah Room
