View of Lower Waterford, Vermont Rabbit Hill Inn offers a setting that is truly unique...a tiny rural village between mountains and a river that somehow has only barely changed in the last century. So precious and pristine, it has been named an Historic District.

Stroll along the quintessential Vermont country lane that fronts the Inn and visit the old cemetery that majestically overlooks the Connecticut River.

Enjoy local culture by visiting one of the most unusual musuems you will ever see. Stop in the planetarium. Then cross the street to the art gallery - recently named a National Historic Landmark. Visit a folk artist and a cabinetmaker in the 18th century tradition. Search for treasures for your home while antiquing. Or go to any one or several craft and country stores.

See Morgan horses or spend some time with llamas or angora goats. Photograph covered bridges, unspoiled countryside, and mountain vistas by taking one of our driving tours.

A ten minute drive in either direction leads you to quaint towns that provide wonderful activities; but you should know that this is quintessential Vermont, fondly known as the Northeast Kingdom.

Spend a few hours in one of America's Ten Best Small Towns - Littleton, New Hampshire. It's a great place for walking and shopping. Don't forget to stop in to each of the town's great bookstores. Or go north of the border - Canada is only an hour's drive.

Things to Do When the Weather is Cold...

Sledding · Snow Shoeing · Skiing · Sleigh Rides
Visit a Sugarhouse and watch how Maple Syrup is made!
Hibernate in the Inn before a fireplace with a good book and some hot cocoa.

...And When the Weather's Just Fine!
  • Romantic Picnic for Two
  • Canoe the Connecticut River
  • Soar over the Mountains in a Glider
  • Float above the Northeast Kingdom in a Hot Air Balloon
  • Traverse the Countryside on Horseback
  • Wade or Swim in the Inn's Mountain Stream-Fed Pond
  • Play Cards, Board Games, Lawn Croquet or Shuffleboard
  • Visit Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory
  • Cave Exploring

In the midst of this beautiful, unspoiled countryside, we present one very sweet, yet sophisticated inn that blends a liveliness with a peaceful step right out of time. Most of all, this is a thoughtful, unpretentious, and lovingly romantic thing we get to do every day of our lives. We'd be honored to share it with you.
