Introduction
The Pond House is nestled in the mountains just south of Woodstock.
The Inn is surrounded by ten stone walled acres, and housed in an 1830's
white cape. The pond is surrounded by trees and fields and is spring
fed making it perfect for an afternoon swim or relaxing on a float with
a good read.

The Inn is cozy with a smattering of antiques, Orientals and touches of
Laura Ashley here and there. The accommodations include three guest
rooms with queen sized beds, down comforters and private baths with
marble and European fixtures.
Awaken to apple french toast or a mushroom souffle accompanied by fresh
fruit, yogurt, juices, cereals and freshly ground Starbuck's coffee.
You needn't worry about finding a restaurant the dinner hour will
surprise and please with different offerings nightly, these might include savory
pumpkin ravioli with a rosemary cream infusion or perhaps lobster
risotto after a salad of greens, gorgonzola and pears. Deserts include
apple tart or pears baked with Marsala and white wine to mention a few.
Return from a days outing and relax with a glass of wine on our patio in
the stone walled flower and herb garden overlooking one of Vermont's
most beautiful views.
Gretel is an enthusiastic bike tourer and knows the best routes in the
area, which is home to the Killington Stage Race. The Pond House
specializes in bike tours for all skill levels. Ride along lakes,
mountain valleys and streams, visit the first capital of Vermont the
worlds longest double span covered bridge, the home of Saint Gaudens and
the surrounding gardens for a Sunday afternoon picnic and concert, or
the birthplace of Calvin Coolidge.
Consider yourself 'Always Welcome'
The Green Mountain Horse Association, a New England horse lovers
destination, is only minutes away with events throughout the year. The
Inn can provide stabling and turn-out for guests horses.
