Introduction

The Old Hotel - Lincoln, Vermont This old hotel has been converted into a bed and breakfast and is located in a lovely village nestled in the foothills of the Green Mountains. Our best guess as to the age of The Old Hotel is about 160 years, built circa 1840. The building was called The Butterfield Hotel during the late 1800’s and was home to the lumberjacks who worked in the area. This industry supplied logs to the many bobbin mills that lined our New Haven River. Since the locals referred to our home as "the old hotel," we decided on The Old Hotel as its new name. The building has had many names with The Long Run Inn being the most recent.

Rooms on the first floor of The Old Hotel include a living room, dining room, game room, sitting room, office, kitchen, public bathroom, and host’s apartment. Our seven guest rooms and three bathrooms are located on the second floor. The guest rooms are accessible by stairs only. guest room

sitting room The Old Hotel has a lovely porch with a sunset view. The backyard and porch offer plenty of space for small receptions and croquet games.

Some of our town folk claim The Old Hotel has a ghost. The story goes that it is a young lady who got involved with a lumberjack living at the hotel. Her story is based on the true story of Dora Cushman, the local doctor’s daughter, and her untimely death. Whether we have an apparition or not is anybody’s guess. We haven’t seen her yet!
