The Old Brick Tavern Bed & Breakfast

According to "A Stitch in Time: Townshend, Vermont 1753-2003", the building is one of the oldest in Townshend village. Other sources tell us it has served as a tavern, dance hall, antique shop and the residence of a silent movie actress. And more recently, the town of Townshend and the barn on our property were featured in the 1988 Chevy Chase film Funny Farm. Come join us in the beautiful Green Mountains of southern Vermont.

The Lester Room is located upstairs at the front of the house and overlooks Townshend Common. It is a spacious comfortable room with a queen size bed, oriental carpet, beautiful bedding and custom drapes. Cable TV is available in the room for your enjoyment. The private bathroom features a hand-painted two-sink vanity with marble top, Kohler soaking tub and separate walk-in shower. Luxury soaps and lotions, plush velour robes and slippers are provided for your pleasure. $150 per night. Maximum occupancy is two persons.

The Oriental Room, located upstairs at the front of the house overlooking Townshend Common, is the larger of our two rooms. This large room offers a queen size bed, oriental carpet, beautiful bedding and custom drapes. Cable TV is available in the room for your enjoyment. The private bathroom features a black lacquer double-sink vanity with marble top, Kohler soaking tub and separate walk-in shower. Luxury soaps and lotions, plush velour robes and slippers are provided for your pleasure. $150 per night. Maximum occupancy is two persons.

• Price includes our epicurean breakfast served in the dining room between 8 and 10 AM each morning.
• Rates are subject to 9% Vermont food and lodging tax.
• A deposit of one night or 50% of your stay, whichever is greater, is required at time of reservation.
• We accept VISA, MasterCard, personal check and cash.
• The inn is a non-smoking environment.
• No pets allowed please.
• Children over the age of 12 are welcome.
• Check-in is between 4 and 8 PM. Check-out is 11 AM.
• We will accommodate individual requirements wherever possible.
• Our cancellation policy is intended to be fair to our guests while minimizing the loss of income to our business.
• If your reservation is cancelled seven days in advance of your scheduled arrival date, your deposit will be refunded less a $20 processing fee.
• If you cancel your reservation within seven days of your scheduled arrival date and we are able to rebook your room, your deposit will be refunded less a $20 processing fee.
• If you cancel your reservation within seven days of your scheduled arrival date and we are not able to rebook your room, your deposit will be forfeited.
