Mountain View Inn

Waitsfield, Vermont

Just 1 mile from Sugarbush's Mount Ellen, 2 1/2 miles from Mad River Glen, and 3 miles from Sugarbush's South Basin.

Waitsfield, Vermont Bed and Breakfast: Mountain View Inn has all the charm of an old Vermont farmhouse with the comfort of modern conveniences. The old wide pine floors have been uncovered, finished and graced with both old and new braided rugs. In the living room we replaced the old floor with wide pine boards?two are almost 28 inches wide?from a pine tree that grew at the corner of the house until it was struck by lightening. Both sides of our family have gifted us with wonderful antique furniture?our dining room table, a ceiling high corner cupboard and numerous beds among other things. All of these have been incorporated into a relaxed friendly setting in the country.

Introduction

Mountain View Inn - Waitsfield, Vermont Mountain View Inn is located on 3+ acres across the road from the Mill Brook and just two miles from Waitsfield Village with all its quaint shops and restaurants. But, when you are here, you are surrounded by the beautiful countryside in a relaxed and friendly setting.

We offer all the charm of an old Vermont farmhouse with the comfort of modern conveniences. The inn itself is lovingly decorated with family heirloom antiques and quilts made by Suzy. The old wide pine floors have been uncovered, finished and graced with both old and new braided rugs. The inn has seven guest rooms, each having a private bath and beautiful views. Mountain View Inn is truly a "home away from home" in the country.

In the winter, cross country skiers can access an expansive trail network, with the Catamount Trail and Phen Basin in close proximity, or go to several local x-c centers. During other seasons of the year, guests can enjoy our porch swing or the hammock out back in the hackmatack tree. We are just over three miles from where the Long Trail crosses the Appalachian Gap. This is the perfect access for hikers to go either north or south on the trail. In our dining room, we have a table that can seat all of our fourteen guests as they enjoy delicacies from the kitchen, views of the mountains and conversation with each other. One of our specialties is blueberry pancakes made from blueberries picked on our property and served with Vermont Maple Syrup produced by the trees on the hillside behind the inn.

We offer seven guest rooms. All of our rooms are basically the same in that they accommodate two people and each has a private bath with shower. Each is individually decorated with its own "personality" and is unique with its own beautiful views.
