Introduction
Deep in the Green Mountains of Vermont, in the quaint Stowe area, lies the beautiful May Farm Bed & Breakfast . Built around 1790 as the main home of a 400+ tree maple sugar bush and what may have been the last sheep farm in the area, the inn hosts guests from around the world.
Our Vermont-charming guest rooms beckon you to slip off your shoes and stay a while. Private European style bathrooms, video monitors or satellite TV, and fine antique furniture surround you in comfort. After a long day, melt into a top quality king or queen bed. Thick comforters and lovely quilts await you. The Blue Room features a Vermont-style fireplace with remote control!
Each morning the ambience of a 3-course candlelight breakfast awaits you. Influenced by the training of Vermont's New England Culinary Institute, the experience is one guests most often write about.
In 2003, the former sugaring house became the Maple Leaf Cottage. For guests who love the smell of cedar, a glowing fire, and crave privacy, this open concept accommodation is right off the hot tub deck! Above the Cottage is the Snowshoe Loft, once the place where the farm kept the snowshoes used in the deep snows of Vermont. The loft is a cozy and romantic hideaway for couples that do not want to be found!
Find a thick snow robe in your room. It is the perfect thing to wear out to our delicious hot tub under the stars. Vermont evenings are cool in summer, crisp in fall, and frosty in winter, so they are perfect for a dip in the discreetly lit hot tub tucked away behind the Inn. Slip into the sparkling water while the tub's CD player lulls you into a dream state.
May Farm Bed & Breakfast is a neighbor to wandering moose, covered bridges, numerous antique shops, Cold Hollow Cider Mill, Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory, Vermont Teddy Bears, Champlain Chocolates, glass blowers, pottery makers, and all manner of unique shops in the quaint Stowe area.
Located in the heart of the Green Mountains, May Farm Bed & Breakfast is surrounded by fantastic color in the Fall. Decked out for the season, the Inn is one of the most popular photography stops for visitors along the wildly popular route 100.
Located next door to the quaint village of Stowe, visitors who stay with us find May Farm's location the perfect place from which to enjoy Vermont's finest ski areas including Mount Mansfield (Vermont's highest peak), Smuggler's Notch, Bolton Valley, Jay Peak, Mad River Glen, Sugarbush, and Killington. Our neighbors offer cross-country skiing, romantic sleigh rides, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, sledding, ice skating, and winter hiking.
For guests interested in hiking, The Green Mountain Club, just across from the Inn, manages the famous Long Trail and other backcountry. Guests at May Farm Bed & Breakfast choose from pre-designed hike maps designed especially for the novice as well as maps catering to the seasoned hiker.
