Introduction
About Our Inn
Come let us pamper you in our tastefully renovated c. 1835 Greek Revival inn. We are situated in the heart of Vermont's beautiful Champlain Valley, in the small farming community of Bridport.
The town of Middlebury, home of prestigious Middlebury College and the renowned UVM Morgan Horse Farm, lies less than 9 miles to the east, while New York State and Lake Champlain are less than eight miles to the West.
Vermont's Champlain Valley and nearby Green Mountains offer something special for the visitor throughout the year...
In the Spring you will be treated to apple blossoms, wildflowers, and the pomp and ceremony of college graduation.
In the Summer the valley and mountains are a great place for hiking, biking, horseback riding, golfing, fishing, birdwatching, stargazing, etc.
In the Fall Mother Nature puts on one of her most spectacular displays in the vivid colors of the fall foliage and the southward migration of the snow geese.
While in the Winter, great uncrowded skiing can be found at the Middlebury Snow Bowl and the Breadloaf Mountain Ski Touring Center.
In addition the Champlain Valley is an area steeped in history -- Ft. Ticonderoga, Mt. Independence, the Rokeby, Crown Point, the Shelburne Museum, etc.
Regardless of whether you are sitting on our deck, in our sunroom, or just relaxing on our lawn, you can...
... enjoy the splendid panorama of rolling farm meadows and the magnificent Adirondack Mountains.
Our spacious yet intimate bed and breakfast inn offers you three very comfortable rooms, including one suite, all with private baths. Each room has been individually decorated to maintain a bright and airy atmosphere throughout the inn. In addition, all our rooms have their own climate control--ceiling fans and window unit air conditioners for cooling in the summer, individual thermostats for heat in the fall and winter. And there are no televisions or telephones in the rooms to interfere with your desire to relax and unwind; however, there is always a portable telephone available in our common area. In the morning you are beckoned to our sunroom, where you will be treated to a bountiful country breakfast while enjoying the view of the meadows and mountains. Breakfast is served, at your convenience, between 8:00 and 9:30 a.m. With advanced notice, we try to accommodate any special dietary needs.
The inn also offers several common rooms for relaxing, including one with a gas fireplace where you can enjoy a cup of hot cocoa and stay cozy and warm on a cold winter's evening.
An eclectic collection of books and magazines can be found in the inn, so one should never be at a loss for something to read.
There is also a deck where complimentary afternoon refreshments are served in the summer and where you can further relax while viewing those fiery sunsets over the Adirondacks.
Even though we do not serve dinner at the inn, we welcome special requests for a small intimate dinner, providing the request is made at least 2 days in advance. In addition, excellent dining can be found in Middlebury as well as in Vergennes, Bristol, and Brandon, all of which are an easy drive from the inn. Middlebury also offers some great shopping, and Burlington and Rutland are each about an hour's drive away. In addition the Olympic Village of Lake Placid can be visited as part of a memorable day trip.
