The Southwest Chamber
A queen sized canopy bed looks out over plush formal gardens to a stunning mountain view on one side or to old maples leading to a classic 1798 church on the other. Massive spruce ceiling beams, and an 1830's wood stove nestled in an original mantled fireplace, and love notes on the walls dating from the 1840s from the original inhabitants. A private bath with a deep antique clawfoot tub, pedestal sink and 18th century woodwork are complimented by Vermont soaps, soft bathrobes and plush towels.
The Middle Chamber
An intimate experience in a high-backed oak canopy bed made in Vermont during the last century. A roll top mahogany desk, embossed leather trunks and a collection of antique traveling paraphernalia combine with massive beams, rich fabrics and a private bath. An 1820's woodstove is set into a 1798 fireplace along with an unlimited supply of dry hardwood. Look out at a gnarled ancient maple tree within a few feet of your window and on to a churchyard and wedding cake church beyond.

The 1786 Suite of Rooms
A king sized bed with hand-made 18th century panels in a high-ceilinged room. Four large windows made with crown glass and etched with the signatures of girls who lived here 200 years ago. The windows incorporate raised panel window seats as well as original Indian shutters. The view through the windows is terraced lawns in the front and a 1798 church on the side. Furniture and paintings from this room are now at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Open a 21 panel wood and glass door into a romantic brick fireplaced sitting room with adjoining private bath with antique marble sink, shower for two, bathrobes and Vermont soaps, of course.

Glazed walls and ceilings in rich 18th century colors surround an old kitchen fireplace of grand proportions in an L-shaped room of intimate complexity. Golden maple tables combine with a silk sofa, high-back antique oak cushioned chairs, Art-Nouveau tapestries and a bit of wrought iron enhance the effects of music and wine by the light and heat of a hardwood fire.
Each evening the ancient warmth of the house will draw you back. A fireplaced suite of rooms is waiting to share 200 years of Vermont history with you. Your sleeping will be deep and refreshing, a true reflection of your stay at the Inn at Windsor.
