Two friendly dogs and a cat join your hostess, Mariot Huessy, in welcoming you to this quiet place in a hundred-acre wood.
Homeplace Bed and Breakfast is the perfect place for a small, intimate Vermont Wedding. Please call for more details.
Homeplace has miles of cross-country and hiking trails. For those who prefer indoor recreation, we offer wireless Internet (WiFi) and books for all ages in almost every room - including hundreds of children's books in the back hall. You'll also find puzzles, chess, mah-jong, and other games in the corner of the living room by the piano.
We're about half an hour away from Burlington, and less than an hour from Shelburne and Stowe. Ask us about the area's many restaurants. Between the mountain and the lake, there's something for every taste and budget.

Spring & Summer
The centrally located Living Room has everything you need for a lively conversation or a quiet moment with a good book. The extensive libraries throughout the house offer something for everyone -- from hardbound Asterix and Tintin books in several languages to books on European history, African medicine, and Vermontiana -- not to mention a large collection of classic and contemporary fiction.
The Living Room is ideal for office parties, meetings, and other group functions. It is large enough to accommodate a party for 50, but its corners allow quiet conversation for 2. In good weather, the outdoor yards and gardens are also available. Please call with as much advance notice as possible to book your event.
Fall
A full country breakfast is served in the dining room between 7:30 and 9:00 a.m. The menu changes every day, and typically features homemade breads and muffins; pancakes from scratch, with local maple syrup; and eggs fresh from the hens. There's always local cider, other juices, and fruits. Homeplace also offers a generous selection of teas and fresh ground Vermont-roasted coffee.
Homeplace has ground-floor and second-floor guestrooms furnished with your comfort in mind. All the rooms at Homeplace look out on gardens and trees. Each bathroom is equipped with a shower; and one has a tub-shower combination. After breakfast, you can enjoy the many different sights that make Homeplace a showpiece for one of the region's annual garden tours. From the flower boxes, potted plants, and hanging flower baskets in the glassed-in terrace to the colorful, three-season gardens surrounding the house, you will always find a restful view.
Winter
In addition to the house pets, Homeplace has outdoor animals as well. The barn is the home-place for sheep, ducks, chickens, a horse, and a donkey.
Homeplace lies at the end of a half-mile-long driveway, affording a private entry into its own hundred-acre wood.
