In the heart of the historic village of Shelburne, Vermont, our cozy and comfortable Bed and Breakfast welcomes you. Built in 1886 by a prosperous merchant, Cyrus Van Vliet, this handsome Queen Anne Victorian has retained its prominence as one of the centerpieces of the Village, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The house has two living rooms for reading, chatting, or just relaxing in overstuffed chairs. The Inn's wrap around porch is a lovely spot to sip early morning coffee, late afternoon tea or a glass of wine and enjoy the beautiful perennial garden. In the Carriage Barn there is a reading loft for a moment of privacy or a special visit with a friend or loved one. The Heart of the Village Inn is the perfect place for Special Events - Including small weddings and civil union ceremonies, showers, birthdays, anniversaries, and other special family celebrations. We can help you make all of the arrangements, from flowers to catering to transportation.

The Heart of the Village Inn has five rooms in the main house and four rooms in the carriage barn. All rooms have private baths, air conditioning, telephones, cable televisions and free wireless internet access. Each room also has a comfortable chair for reading or relaxing. Each room is named for a Shelburne resident who played a key role in the history of this Vermont village. The Barstow room in our Carriage Barn is first floor and accessible with a large private bath. Our rates are based upon single or double occupancy. Included in the standard room rate is a full Vermont Breakfast which features a tantalizing buffet of cold selections as well as a featured hot daily breakfast entree. Each room also includes two comfy robes as well as Free Local Telephone Calls and Wireless Internet Access. When more than two individuals occupy a room, a $25 per person, per night charge applies. We allow dogs in selected rooms for a one time fee of $25. Dogs must be kept in a crate if unattended.

Spend a few days with us - there is so much to do and we are truly in the "heart of it all". The Heart of the Village Inn is located in the Village of Shelburne, across the street from the town hall. Nearby is the world-renowned Shelburne Museum with its 60 beautifully landscaped acres and superb collection housed in 39 historic buildings. Just over a mile away, is the wonderful 1400 acre Shelburne Farms with the Farm Barn, bakery and cheesemaking to explore. The wonderful city of Burlington is just 6 miles away, and the Burlington International Airport is a 15 minute drive.
