In the heart of the historic village of Shelburne, Vermont, our casually elegant bed and breakfast inn welcomes you. Built in 1886 by a prosperous merchant, Cyrus Van Vliet, this handsome Queen Anne Victorian has retained its prominence as one of the centerpieces of the Village, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The main Inn building has five rooms and the Carriage Barn four rooms - each elegantly decorated with a mix of period furnishings and armoires, comfortable beds, plush linens, and sunny views of Shelburne Village. Each room is equipped with a private bath, hair dryer, air conditioning, phone service, cable television, and a cozy reading chair. Uniquely furnished and designed each room is named after an important historic Shelburne figure and has its own special character. The house has two living rooms for reading, chatting, or just relaxing in overstuffed chairs by the fire. The Inn's wrap around porch is a lovely spot to sip early morning coffee, late afternoon or a glass of wine and enjoy the beautiful perennial garden and the new vegetable and herb garden. In the Carriage Barn there is a special loft for a moment or privacy or a special visit with a friend or loved one.

Whether you are enjoying a delicious Vermont breakfast or just relaxing overlooking the well tended perennial garden, you are sure to feel like you've escaped from your everyday grind. Heart of the Village Inn is next to the town green and library (c. 1816) now the home of the Shelburne Craft School, and across the street from the town hall. Nearby is the world-renowned 45-acre Shelburne Museum with its 18 period buildings and beautifully landscaped grounds. And just over a mile away, is the wonderful Shelburne Farms with the Farm Barn, bakery and cheesemaking to explore. The wonderful city of Burlington is just 6 miles away, and the Burlington International Airport is a 15 minute drive.
