Our tyrolean style chalet was built by George and Irene Ballschneider who
picked out and carried home each stone in the fireplace and hauled lumber to
the building site with a snowmobile.
The large, beamed living room features
a giant fieldstone fireplace and a wall of windows overlooking brilliant
foliage, knee-deep snow and forested valleys.
Our BYOB Austrian tavern
features hand-stenciled booths perfect for a game of backgammon or checkers, or
curl up with with a book in front of the stone fireplace in the living room.
Enjoy our forest hiking and snowshoeing trails, plus our perennial and rock garden deck.
Eight romantic guestrooms, on the second floor, open onto the carved wood balcony which offers wonderful views. Two rooms have their own private balconies.
Three cabins (each with sitting area, fireplace and deck) are hidden along trails up in the woods.
Our guests are friends who enjoy the special concern, spontaneity and
personal attention that are essential elements of our home. Hearty, creative
homemade breakfasts are only the beginning. Our breakfasts are full and memorable and feature
homemade breads, hearty entrees and fresh fruit creations, served overlooking
the mountains.
We've decorated the guestrooms
with an emphasis on coziness, comfort and charm using antique furniture,
comforters and quilts.
