As you enter The Four Seasons Inn, the feeling is of rich carpet, English wallpapers and warm mahogany woods. A massive local stone fireplace casts a welcome glow and looks as though it has stood in the gathering room for a hundred years. The sun-filled breakfast room with rag-rubbed walls in deep ochre tones, leads to a sheltered deck adjacent to the Deerfield River, where breakfast can be served on warmer days. |

Of course, no stay would be complete without breakfast and, since the owners are English, as you would expect, breakfast features large on the list of ways to ensure an excellent start to the day. For a breakfast entree we can offer Challah French toast, buttermilk pancakes with a choice of fillings, pancakes Anglais, eggs any style - all accompanied by Vermont Maple baked bacon, and hash browns. Or try our house special - baked eggs in ham crisps. As one guest wrote in the visitors book, "I wish I was a Hobbit and could eat two breakfasts!" |

The luxury bedrooms are designed to produce a romantic atmosphere, with queen beds adorned with hand-made lace canopy trims, and king four-poster beds covered in fluffy, down-filled, velvet comforters. Arched corridors and doorways lead to fully tiled bathrooms with huge two-person Jacuzzi tubs. Lace-paneled French doors open on to private balconies with river views and, to cope with the Vermont climate, we have rooms with both fireplaces and air conditioning. |
