For a charming and relaxing B&B vacation, you might want to visit Fairfax in Vermont. Named after Thomas Fairfax, an English baron who was one of George Washington's close associates, the town is located in a quaint rural area positioned between the historic Green Mountains and the breathtaking Lake Champlain. A Fairfax bed and breakfast will reveal many scenic views. For example, a Fairfax inn will provide you with a wonderful view of Mount Mansfield. While in the area, be sure to visit Fairfax Falls or the Fairfax covered bridge. You can learn a lot about the history of the area through the Fairfax Historical Society. While any time of year is a good time to visit Thomas Fairfax, you might want to time your visit to coincide with the annual chicken pie supper in the fall. The area is great for maple syrup, too. Great places to eat at include the Country Pantry and the Foothills Bakery.
