In 1885 John Davis built his home, today the Deerfield Valley Inn, from lumber worked in his water mill located across the street at the time. The Inn still has much of the original wax rubbed ash encasements and mill work. Over the years new wings were added to the original building. You will find the Inn on the National Register of Historic Places. Many of the individually and tastefully decorated guest rooms have their own wood burning fireplaces and sitting areas. All rooms have private bathrooms and cable TV. The living room of the Inn invites you to relax and enjoy the comforts of Southern Vermont and authentic European hospitality. Throughout the Inn, local Vermont and New England artist display their work, often reflecting the beauty and charm Vermont offers through all its seasons. Many of the painting and photography are for sale and make a special gift to a loved one. A delicious breakfast and a light afternoon tea are served daily, featuring only delicious home-baked delicacies. Many excellent restaurants located only minutes away from the Inn offer true gourmet cuisine, some featuring award-winning wine cellars. We will be happy th share the list of our favorite places with you.
