Introduction

Full of rich history to hold dear and share,
we hope that you will join us today
for the making of tomorrow's history!
Williston, VT-Catamount Bed & Breakfast

The house, built in 1796, was originally built for Giles Chittenden by Vermont's first Governor Thomas Chittenden. Many of the Chittenden households grace the area, this one being part of the farm where Thomas once resided. This property has been in the McCullough family for 127 years. Ancestors of the McCulloughs purchased the acreage in 1873 and ran it as a dairy farm until the mid-1950's. In the mid-1970's, people started using the property for cross-country skiing.

In 1978, Jim and Lucy started the Catamount Family Center. All year long, the Catamount Family Center offers the chance for guests of the bed & breakfast and others to enjoy the expansive grounds. Activities for the spring, summer, and fall include mountain biking, trail walking and running, as well as orienteering, while winter offers cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, and sledding. While enjoying Catamount's trails, you will have vistas of Mt. Mansfield and Camel's Hump to the east and Lake Champlain framed by the Adirondack Mountains to the west. Equipment rentals are available on the property. Lessons, specials, and ongoing events are also available.

Other area attractions include Ben & Jerry's, Camel's Hump, Adam's Farm Market, Church Street Marketplace, Flynn Theater, Shelburne Farms and the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory.
