We are the premier producers of custom handmade logo stoneware. We are also a family business that was started in 1972 by Peter and Mary Deneen. Cloth & Clay, Inc. was our name from 1992-2001. Today, we are Deneen Pottery: Same people, same excellent products. We're proud to carry forward a long tradition of hand-thrown stoneware designs that meet your needs today, based on shapes and functions hundreds of years in the making. Each piece is carefully crafted, one at a time.
- "My mugs arrived today! I am thrilled by the quality, craftsmanship, timeliness and my logo looks magnificent! I love the magnets as well!!!" Dianne M. Ward, Kenniston Hill Inn – Boothbay, ME
- "I’ve sat at dozens of B&B breakfast tables, listening to the guests talk about their favorite Inns. When I ask for the names of those B&Bs, folks rarely remember them. If each guest had brought home a special mug, they would know and recommend those properties!" - Sandy Soule, BedandBreakfast.com
- "Part of what helps the mugs fly out the door is that we use them for breakfast--these are not museum pieces (quality, yes. But also meant to be used!). Guests like the feel, the look, and the future fond memories with coffee at home. Another part is that you're such great folks to work with--if you were OGRES, we wouldn't sell mugs at all." Erin Drews, Ann Bean Mansion – Stillwater, MN
- "They are gorgeous! I absolutely love the color and the detail of my design, I am so happy with MY mugs! Thank you to everyone at Deneen Pottery - you all did an amazing job on my first order!" Cheryl Barber, 10 Fitch – Auburn, NY

In 1987 we had just one style when we began making mugs for our first B&B - the Historic Thorwood Inn, Hastings, MN. But because every business is different we knew that we would need to have more options. Our newest style, the Queen's Cup is inspired by the Victorian Period. What is the most popular style, you might ask? It is still the Round Belly followed closely by the Footed Mug.
