Introduction
Welcome to the Manor House and the Chumley Homeplace,
two of the guest houses at the Inn at Vaucluse Spring.
The Manor House
Experience the romance of a country house weekend - or week!
This country house is a meticulously restored Federal manor house overlooking
100 acres of rolling meadows in the Shenandoah Valley.
Vaucluse Manor House
Originally built in 1785 by the son of Gabriel Jones, the fabled "Valley
Lawyer" Vaucluse was named after the French country retreat of the great
romantic poet Petrarch.
In 1995, your hosts, Neil and Barry Myers seeking the
country "good life" bought the Vaucluse estate and opened it as a country
inn.
The Vaucluse Manor House contains six guest rooms. The three elegant upstairs
bedrooms have luxuriously covered queen or king beds, Jacuzzi tubs, fireplaces
with mantles, thick Oriental carpets over heart pine floors, high ceilings and
views of the countryside.
The three cozy downstairs bedrooms off the original winter kitchen common area
have queen beds, Jacuzzi tubs, fireplaces and original stone walls. All rooms
in the inn have private baths and air conditioning.
Country Home Magazine called the Inn at Vaucluse Spring "Paradise
Found." "With homey three-course breakfasts, cozy rooms, and acres of Virginia
landscape, it's a historic place where guests, too, find their own bit of
heaven."
The Inn truly is a perfect country retreat in any season. Cycle past apple
orchards in bloom, float down the Shenandoah in a
canoe, hike the trails of the Shenandoah National Park
in its autumn glory, or cross country ski across the Inn's winter meadows.
