Star Tannery is an unincorporated community in southwestern Frederick County, Virginia on the Shenandoah County line. If you're headed to a Star Tannery bed and breakfast, chances are you're in town for the jazz and blues festival held in late September every year. If you've come to your B&B for some other reason and it is summertime, don't forget to visit the local fireman's carnival and the Atlantic Ocean, which is a very short drive away. A new sports and recreation campground was just built at the start of March. If your Star Tannery inn doesn't have food, you might try the local fare, like the BBQ chicken pizza at Donatello's pizza, or settle for the standardized comfort of Harvey's, and their hearty hamburgers.
