In the evenings guests at Southern Heritage Bed & Breakfast can relax on the porch and chat with other guests or read in one of the many private nooks. If you choose to walk on our grounds you can enjoy our shady seating area, our rock garden, or our rare Osage Orange Tree(the tree which inspired the invention of barbed-wire). As you explore the grounds be sure to notice the variety of plants including the roses, azaleas, crepe myrtles, camellias, hydrangea and rose of Sharon. From June to August our fireflies will entertain you with a nightly light show.

Indoor activities include games, a Civil War puzzle, a piano, organ and videos. Browse our library of Civil War books which include a large variety of biographies and historical accounts of the war. Peruse a week by week account of the war as reported in an Atlanta newspaper. Our books include some rare, first edition, and out of print books. Ask us to tell you the story of Colonel John Pelham. Fishermen will find we are the closest lodging to Rudds Creek (2 miles), Eastland Creek (7 miles), and North Bend Park (9 miles). Fishermen can request early breakfast and boxed lunches while their wives can breakfast late and leisurely. Wives can also enjoy afternoon tea served in "grand Victorian style".
