 Charlottesville, Virginia (VA) Bed & Breakfast: Thirteen lodging rooms and suites with fireplaces and private baths (eight with Jacuzzis). B&B rates from $195 to $350 per couple (includes wine and snacks on arrival, wine reception, and full country breakfast-in-bed or in the dining room). Prie fixe four course candlelight dinners are available weekends and most weekdays at $49 per person (plus optional wine, staff gratuities, and 7% VA sales and lodging taxes are not included). Special rates are available for small conferences and Garden Wedding Receptions for up to 200 persons.

The Rose Room, the Former 1840 Ballroom of the Manor Dining at Prospect Hill Plantation is an unusual culinary experience. The Sheehan family is continuing the tradition that goes back to 1874 when the Overton family first began taking in guests after the Civil War. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy a complimentary refreshment while acquainting themselves with fellow diners by a crackling fire, or stroll the grounds or explore the wine cellar. Since 1977 the dining experience at Prospect Hill has begun the same way ---- the innkeeper's bell announces the start of a four-course repast created by the inn's talented culinary staff. After the innkeeper offers a simple blessing, warm bread just out of the oven arrives and the meal begins. Just sit back and enjoy leisurely dining and good fellowship.

Menu selections are chosen from the finest of fresh regional ingredients and feature creative, original recipes with a distinct European influence. The dining room is open by reservation throughout the week. Special dietary needs are always accommodated with advance notice. Additional dinner guests are always welcome to join us for our four course prie-fixe dinner at $49 per person (served most Tues to Thurs at 7 PM, Fri and Sat at 8 PM). Our prie-fixe dinner includes our complimentary wine reception one-half hour prior and complete four course dinner with dessert. Additional wine with dinner, staff gratuities, and 5% sales tax are not included. Main Dining Room
