Fly Fishing on the Shenandoah River next to the Inn
Guests come to Narrow Passage to enjoy the outdoors -- hiking, horseback riding, canoeing and fishing -- and the heritage of the Shenandoah Valley, including wineries, antique shops, battlefields, caverns and seasonal festivals. Many prefer just to relax and walk along the country road from the inn across the river to the foot of the mountain. The swinging footbridge just upstream can add a little excitement!
In the main building, guests can enjoy the large common room, with its gleaming pine floors, wing chairs and massive limestone fireplace. A hearty, fireside breakfast is served in the panelled dining room, with fine restaurants nearby for other meals.
The oldest guest rooms feature wood floors, stenciling and the atmosphere of colonial times. Rooms in later additions are decorated in the same style, but open onto porches, with views of the Shenandoah River and the Massanutten Mountains to the east. The inn is fully air-conditioned and most rooms have working fireplaces.
