Miss Molly's Inn

In 1886, Mr. J. T. Rowley, then known as the "clam king of the world" built a charming Victorian house on Chincoteague Island. Today, the house has been beautifully restored and offers wonderful Chincoteague island bed and breakfast accommodations and warm hospitality to the Island visitor.

Miss Molly's Inn sits on the bay and has five wonderful porches with plenty of rocking chairs and a large deck on the second floor that overlooks the bay. We also have a beautiful screened in porch full of flowers where you can sip aromatic coffee while you watch the mother ducks with their ducklings, seagulls wheeling overhead, and a couple of lazy cats that sleep in the sunshine! Enjoy a traditional English afternoon tea listening to some soft music or watch the boats go past in the channel.

Our lovely Chincoteague inn is open all year round and is just perfect for honeymoons, small weddings, conferences and family get-togethers! This Virginia Bed and Breakfast is also where Marguerite Henry wrote her classic 'Misty of Chincoteague'.

At Miss Molly's Chincoteague Bed and Breakfast we serve a gourmet breakfast. Freshly brewed cafetieres of coffee are available from about 7:30 a.m. every morning so that you can take your coffee and sit in the lovely screened in porch or watch the comings and goings around the bed and breakfast. Keep an eye on the bay from the second floor deck or read the paper on the front porch while you wait for breakfast. The breakfast is set with antique china and special cloth napkins, there is always freshly brewed coffee, English tea or warming Cocoa available, fresh orange juice and homemade breads, cakes and muffins with Lin's famous homemade preserves.

The first course here at our Chincoteague Island bed and breakfast will always be fruits, for example; blueberry compote with plain yogurt, honey and vanilla. Poached pears in a fresh raspberry coulee or fresh melon boats with prosciutto. The second course could be stuffed French toast with strawberries and cream with maple syrup and a special maple or hickory bacon, or smoked salmon and asparagus quiche with a puff pastry fruit basket or a full English breakfast with sausage and bacon tomato mushrooms and eggs, or homemade Belgium waffles with peaches and cream and a super European sausage; the list goes on and on. We cater to all dietary requirements given a little advance notice. We hope we have whetted your appetite a little and look forward to seeing you at Miss Molly's breakfast table.

No matter what time of the year you come to Chincoteague island there is always lots to do! For example, if you like the water you can go kayaking, sailing, surfing or hire motor boats. Captains can plan a wonderfully informative or romantic cruise. While staying at our Chincoteague bed and breakfast, take advantage of the fishing here, off the dock, on the inland waterways or in deep sea, your choice.

We have bikes or you can bring your own, Chincoteague and Assateague are great for biking. There is hiking and sight seeing, photography and world class bird watching. Assateague has a glorious unspoiled beach and the most wonderful wild life reserve. Near to our Assateague bed and breakfast we have diverse shopping and restaurants. You will find plenty of quiet spots to curl up with your favorite novel. All through the year Chincoteague plays host to festivals and attractions. Our Island is unspoiled and perfect for families, lovers and people that need a little peace and serenity.
