Introduction
You are invited to take lodging at the historic Miller House, one of the area's best examples of Chateauesque Victorian architecture. It is listed in the Virginia Historic Landmark Registry and is owned and operated by Ray Cubbage and Pam Robbins. The C.W. Miller house was designed by T.J. Collins in 1896. It sits at the top of the hill, just a few blocks from the quaint shopping district of Staunton, and is surrounded by an English garden. Upon arrival you will be welcomed in the reception hall and escorted to one of our five chambers with fireplace and private shower bath.
Experience the opulence of the Victorian Age by strolling through Staunton's five historic districts. Settled in 1732, Staunton is located in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley with easy access from interstates 81 and 64. Staunton is an historic, vibrant city that reveres antiquity and values art, culture, theater, music and local color. Throughout the year, the Blackfriars Theater offers stellar performances. In the spring, summer and fall, one might experience a garden tour, farmers' market, concert, bicycle ride or many other local events. It is a delightful city in which to relax, step back in history and simply enjoy life.
The formal dining room is spacious enough for large groups; yet intimate enough to serve as one of our breakfast rooms. With a solid walnut table and crystal chandelier the dining room is elegant enough for any event. The main floor of the inn features two parlors, a music room and a library. These rooms are perfect for meetings, receptions and casual get-togethers. Every parlor features a working fireplace, comfortable seating and large windows. With beautiful views of the city, the neighboring church and the hills surrounding Staunton, the Solarium offers a private place to read, relax and socialize.
In the morning, you will awake to a full gourmet breakfast in the formal dining room, or for more intimacy, choose the solarium or one of our four parlors. Our goal is to create enjoyable memories!
With its parlors, reception hall, and dining areas, the Miller House is ideal for Victorian weddings, teas, luncheons, showers, receptions, dinner parties, and business meetings. It is also a perfect spot for romantic getaways.
