Suzanne left a 25-year career in the newspaper business to peruse her longtime dream of operating a country inn. A native Texan, she worked at newspapers in Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi before moving to the Chicago suburbs to be a publisher of 18 weekly community newspapers owned by the Chicago Sun-Times Co. She continues to do freelance editing, writing and consulting. Innkeeping provides a perfect match for Suzie's dual love of history and cooking. Prior to opening the Inn, she had a dual career as Historic Preservation Officer for the Chicago suburb of Wilmette and as a food editor for a group of 40 weekly community newspaper in the Chicago suburbs. The Georgia native continues to write a weekly food column for those newspapers, as well as working on the "Meander Cookbook".
The family pets are integral parts of life at The Inn At Meander Plantation. All are "guest friendly," but we do try to keep them out of the guest rooms for your comfort.
