You will begin your vacation at the historic Mayhurst Inn which was General A.P. Hill had his HQ from November 1863 to May 1864, and where 18,000 Confederate Troops camped. You can borrow our metal detector and find some artifacts. As Pat says, 18,000 guys and no one to pick up after them, they left a lot of stuff around. Generals Lee, Jackson and A.P. Hill all visited at Mayhurst. Washington did not sleep here.

From beautiful outdoor settings to indoor elegance, Mayhurst Inn, an 1859 Plantation Manor House, is the perfect place to have your most important day. Situated in historic and scenic Orange County, Mayhurst is the premier location in Central Virginia for the event that will provide you with a lifetime of memories.
Mayhurst and its grounds have hosted over 80 weddings - from 2 to 300 guests. Locations abound for your Ceremony. From the elegant front porch, the main entry walk, to an arch through our boxwood hedge, under the 200 year old ash tree by our pond or in the Main Parlor. Your Ceremony will reflect your personal desires.
Locations for your reception include the dining room (seats 32), patio (seats 64) and multiple lawn areas adjacent to the Manor House that can seat up to 300 guests.
We provide our brides with a "recommended" vendor list that includes caterers, florists, photographers, wedding cake vendors, Ministers or Wedding Celebrants, musicians, and other services. We are happy to assist you with making arrangements.
The Premises Site Fee for the use of the Mayhurst Manor House and our 37 Acres for a weekend is $2,500, plus Virginia Sales Tax. The site fee covers the period from 2:00 PM on Friday to 12:00 Noon on Sunday. For a "Weekend Wedding" all guest rooms must be rented for a minimum of two nights. Brides get a 10% discount on all rooms for both nights. Full breakfasts are included for all guests staying at Mayhurst.
Elopements, including one night in the room of your choice, celebrant, music, bouquet and boutonniere, cake and champagne and dinner for two, begin at $750.00.
