Civil War Vacation Package
You will begin your vacation at the historic Mayhurst Inn which was General A.P. Hill's HQ from November 1863 to May 1864, and where 18,000 Confederate Troops camped. You can borrow our metal detector and find some artifacts. As Pat says, "18,000 guys and no one to pick up after them, they left a lot of stuff around." Generals Lee, Jackson and A.P. Hill all visited at Mayhurst. Washington did not sleep here.
Pick two out of three fantastic 18 Hole courses. Cart included for both. Arrive for an early, 12:00 Noon check-in at Mayhurst and play your first Round of Golf that afternoon, your second the following morning, or on the following day. We'll set up your tee times. Coming as a party of 4 and the men or women or one couple doesn't play - we'll set up a day and ½ of things for the non-golfers to do.
Golfing Vacation Package
Meadows Farm Golf Course: 27 of the most interesting and challenging holes around. Longest Hole in the US, Par 6 - 841 Yards, the Waterfall Hole, the Island Hole and lots more. Three choices for your 18 holes: Island/Longest - Par 72, 7014 yards. Island/Waterfall - Par 70, 6067 yards. Longest/Waterfall - Par 72, 6871 yards. Bring extra golf balls and burn your score card after this day. Guaranteed to be a fun.
Lake Monticello Golf Course: This course was thoughtfully designed three decades ago by Buddy Loving to take advantage of the natural contours and features of Piedmont Virginia's lovely rolling landscape. Lake Monticello's year-round, semi-private, 18 hole, Par 72, 6,925-yard course features championship, men's, seniors' and ladies' tees and offers state-of-the-art electric golf cars.
Laurel Ridge Golf Club: An eight-year-old course with mature and undulating greens that players say are among the best in Virginia. The 18-hole, Par 72, 6,294 yard course spreads through the forested foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
