Built in 1916, Maridor received its name from its third owner, Marion Augustus Smyth, President of National Business College who re-named the home "Maridor" after his two children, Marion and Dorothy.The Maridor Bed & Breakfast offers the discriminating guest the ambiance of a beautiful private home with the luxurious comfort of a fine hotel. Spacious guest rooms and suites are designed for the enjoyment of travelers whether it is for business or pleasure. Each oversized bedroom features an antique or reproduction queen or king sized bed and a private bath complete with vintage accessories. Soaking tubs and pedestal sinks take the visitor back to an era long forgotten. All rooms afford the guest ample seating and suite room offer adjacent private sunporches for the guest's enjoyment. Imported linens and comfortable surroundings insure the guest a truly pampered experience. |
| Guests are invited to enjoy the luxurious common areas of the house, which include a bright and airy sunporch, an oversized living room with down filled chairs and sofas and a beckoning fireplace or the intimate library. Also available is a wonderful partially enclosed outdoor porch so guests may enjoy the gardens regardless of the weather. | Full gourmet breakfast will be served in either the antique filled dining room on a table adorned with fine china and crystal or on any of the sunporches.
