Introduction

Warwickton, a magnificent brick home built by James Woods Warwick in 1851, now hosts Hidden Valley Bed & Breakfast. The mansion is on the National Register of Historic Places and is a Virginia Historic landmark. The lush natural beauty of the George Washington National Forest provides a peaceful location for Warwickton.

To start out your day, Ron & Pam will be serving a full breakfast in the formal dining room. Enjoy your leisurely breakfast discussing the history of the valley and the mansion, while planning which of the areas of local interest you are going to visit.

Formal Dining Room The mansion is nestled in a fertile valley along the Jackson River, and offers fishing, hiking, hunting, and bike trails for the outdoor enthusiast. For the nature lover or hiker, the Hidden Valley trail system combines natural beauty, wildlife, and history all in one unique location. For the history buff, many historical sites and towns can be found within an hours drive.

When entering our spacious hallway, experience the luxury of fine carpets, warm welcoming colors, and fine hand-carved pieces of furniture. Take a step back in time. Take time to relax in the stylish living room. Peruse books from Civil War history to trail guides locating the best fishing spots. The Music Room features an antique piano and period music. Try your hand at the keys or ask Pam to highlight historic songs.

Directions

We are located in the George Washington National Forest on the Jackson River.

From the East:
Take I-64 W to Staunton exit (US 250 W) to Coalter Street (Route 254 W);
Route 254 W picks up Route 42 at Buffalo Gap;
Route 42 S through Goshen (Route 42 and Route 39 come together at Goshen);
Continue on Route 39 W over Warm Springs Mountain to Route 220;
Turn Right on Route 220 N (2.6 miles) turn Left onto McGuffin Road (Route 621);
Go 1.8 miles to Hidden Valley Road; turn Right and follow the road over the river to the Mansion (2 miles).

From the West:
Take I-64 E to Covington, Virginia;
Take Route 220 N past Warm Springs pools (2.6 miles);
Turn Left onto McGuffin Road (Route 621);
Go 1.8 miles to Hidden Valley Road;
Turn Right and follow the road over the river to the Mansion (2 miles).
