Every bedroom has a comfortable sitting area and a breakfast nook and either a king or queen size canopied bed and private bath. One bedroom has a real woodburning fireplace! Another has an adjoining private, screened-in porch.

Your hosts, Sue and Dick Lake, have made Governor's Trace B&B the TouchStone for romantic getaways.

Imagine drifting off in a king-size bed beneath a ceiling hung canopy while the fireplace crackles in the background. Swag-draped, shuttered windows and glowing brass candlelight lanterns complete the mood in the elegant setting.

Filled with family antiques and "found treasures," this room features a private screened-in porch protected by boxwood, bamboo and jasmine draped trellis. The resident hummingbirds darting about will entertain you while you linger over breakfast.

Ivy prints with wildflower accents make this light, airy room a favorite of honeymooners. Interior plantation shuttered windows overlook a wraparound mulberry tree that provides a cozy treehouse effect.

• Rates range from $150 to $175 a night per room (double occupancy).
• Payment by Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or personal check. Full/split payment in advance. Full refund with 14 days' notice except December, which is 30 days. If cancellation notice is less than the required period, refund or credit will be given upon resale of the reservation. A $15 administrative fee may be assessed for any cancellation.
• Two-night minimum stay on weekends and three nights over major holidays.
• Check-in: 4 to 6 p.m. (Later check-in accommodated by prior arrangement)
• Check-out: 11 a.m.
